code, bad takes, occasionally eating the rich 🌹
if you're planning more of these "scale exercises" in the future I think that would make the writeup even more impressive, people love looking at stats.

great writeup, impressive as always.
do you mind sharing some metrics that you collected while running this? i would love to see things like the number of concurrent connections, latency, CPU load, etc. over time.

"compete" because i'm not good enough for top 100 (definitely not right after waking up lol) but it's fun try at the top 1k anyway

Thanks, Typesense came up as well in my initial search. I'll compare it to Meilisearch. Hopefully one of those will do the job.

OpenSearch looks a little too heavy for a PoC. And I don't want anything hosted because I don't want to go through a whole security review to even see if this works lol

@amadeusz.bsky.social maybe you know something for this?

We’ll see, I’m using Alacritty on macOS just fine. I used to miss ligatures but I don’t really care for them now so I’m not sure if there are any other features that would win me over.

Lucky you, finding about it when there’s a release date 😆

I heard about this way back and thought it was going to be in a perpetual private beta like Jai. I’m curious if it’s going to do anything for me that Alacritty doesn’t.

i have to say this is probably the first time in forever (probably like solid 18 or more years of using computers) that i enjoy using the stock browser. unbelievable.

kinda regret abandoning that idea tbh because it would be pretty cool to develop and release a plugin but I wasn't feeling like doing all the boring polishing stuff. I would've spent half the time doing css and hating every second of it
