A timeless lesson I learned as a young business owner more than 20 years ago: when there's conflict, listen first and say less. I thought I had to explain everything to defend myself. I was wrong. The less you say, the more you learn, and the sharper your response becomes.

My mentor and the best leader in business I ever worked with said to me:

"If your team can't function without you for a week, you haven't built leaders—you've built dependents. Stop calling your control issues 'being hands-on.'"

100% true in business as it is in your personal life.

In Sweden, Jan 6th is a red day and people are off from work but our team got a head start and met online for our weekly roundups. That was good and it set the pace. Afterwards, I went for a dark late afternoon hike and came home with a full heart, ready and focused on great things to come in 2026.

People are using ChatGPT (and other LLMs for research).

But something fundamental is still missing: stories

- from locals before tourism impacted their communities

- from tour operators sharing a behind-the-scenes lens

One way to improve the way we travel is to share more human-powerd stories.
