This is the only fair moderation policy decision for any platform.

Mockery is a traditional source of humor and sometimes is used as a social enforcement mechanism. Intent varies from fun to contemptuous.

Sneering is subbranch of mockery with higher levels of regular contempt. It appears to be bad for the soul.

Idk if Anything Can Be Done about it, really.

It's not but "an object that fucks up spreadsheets" is in the 1912 edition and there's some inconsistencies with his usage

I'm not saying I plan to use a word all willy nilly like, but just in case does this mean I can come here for a zen-word pass in the future?

Jay, I don't mean to butt in, but I am sorry to say these serious posts are getting my goat a little. I followed you because I heard you were a top tier waffleposter.

I understand content creators and CEOs value variety and can't only post waffles but, still, letting you know where I stand.

I don't blame people who want to talk about [my specific grievance] but everyone seems to ignore that Harris was a surprise campaign. Not even a convention timed surprise. This is a fundamental disadvantage in 100 different ways

Ah-ha, but Will you've not yet seen my NEW rhetorical trick.

This was relayed via Gov. Cox in a press conference. Here's a People.com article that embeds the IG video clip for quote:

Internet loves to take offense when people make meta critiques about a forum they use. You can go to a city council meeting & complain about city council meetings. Many people do. But complain about downvotes on reddit? Good luck!

I think low stakes+opt in makes it easy to take offense

Thank you for sharing the link. So much noise and slop. People posting 4chan posts as an authority here lol.

Knew him in high school not exactly reliable but ultimately it's a a tussle over which form of online brainrot he suffered

What's interesting about the accommodation trend in the US, such as California LSATs, is that people w/ accommodations have started outperforming the standard test takers for several years now. Which means high performers are now overrepresented in those accommodated

Is it sexist to refer to woman AI voices as "toots"?

A reliable punching bag is clearly in high demand. The site aimlessly shifts from one to the other depending on the day. It's chaotic and unstable. Kudos and Godspeed.

Random 18 y/o maybe not but, frankly, he comes from a background that knows these things. He will say as much. His father was even a professor at the school. His hs was the kind that pays close attention to college apps. I find it hard to believe as a misunderstanding, but it's not impossible

The race/ethnicity box he selected was "Black or African American" so most Africans could check this box regardless if they're ADOS. Musk should not, and Mamdani probably shouldn't have either. Not that a rejected college app matters very much.

Examples? Ones I can think of are not coordination->less heat. They are policy winning, becomes normal, opposing beliefs (real!) fade. Seatbelts, kindergarten.

You have to win policy before becomes Just A Nice Thing. Tho I'd love education be less contested politics, ideological & more empirical
June 25, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Putting kids in whatever class they're read for is a policy with opposition, because it replaces other alternative policies. Opponents who will gladly give a policy a name if its advocates do not. It is also, unfortunately, impossible to kill the euphemism treadmill.

I toned mine down to where it seeeeems to successfully cue in on the level of cutesy internet lingo desired based on the prompt. Def consider superior to vanilla. Mostly still 4o though

Seems standard revenue driver or shitty policy. 1 plaintiff a visitor for wedding. 1 plaintiff told roadside breathalyzer "optional" right before carted off to jail to blow 0.00. So HI has the common deny->jail.

Prosecutor "fails to prosecute" 80% DUI which prob means lower pleas = $$$ = quota

Stop messing around. You can either be a fantasy strawman that I get to punch or you can subscribe to one of the approved beliefs
May 30, 2025 at 11:19 PM
The most common centrist in America is: moderate liberal centrist. If that's what you are, then you def subscribe to an ideology or category of ideologies. If not then you might be better described as an independent.

If they're nationals studying here then they're required to spy if requested which is apparently requested quite a lot. The 'spy' is silly in certain labs, but it is what it is.
