His usefulness lies in the fact that he can be manipulated and will push along the Russian propaganda.

We saw during Covid that many who were against vaccines when they were available, did die. Their families remained unconvinced that they could have benefitted from the vaccine.

Take any author with a grain of salt and in context with everything else on the bookshelf. Some people read widely because it makes us smarter! Doesn’t mean we liked it or subscribe to the philosophies!

Independent reading and pleasure reading isn’t the only thing teachers do in class. There is room for both the teaching of skills and reading for pleasure.

That is definitely a problem. Also, we now have a lot of teachers who aren’t certified trying to fill in the gap for the teacher shortage. (Our district calls them “adjunct” teachers.) It astounds me how many high school ELA teachers don’t read at all.
