I'm currently re-reading Starship trooper (for the first time in English) and yesterday dad made me rewatch the movie (which butchers the book but still is entertaining).

I love how anti drone personal weapons always look unnecessarily futuristic. I highly doubt there's a reason for these false vents on the sides and complex pattern when normally it should just look like a brick.
I think designers went on a field day on it like "fuck it, Psycho-Pass gun"
