i appreciate you listening to me yap about one of my favorite video game series :) i’d love to hear more about it, should you play it at some point!!

now i’d like to ask you — trails in the sky. there’s also cold steel? many people i know have played it. would you recommend?

of those three (assuming you have a switch or steam since most people i’ve met do lol) i’d say vesperia is a really good intro that’s not too old / unlike modern tales. it’s also more of a lighthearted start imo! if you enjoy that, i’d recommend berseria or symphonia after. :) ty for asking! 🩷

vesperia has a great protagonist and cast, their interactions throughout the story are some of my fave. battle system is more updated than symphonia, for sure. berseria has a female lead (queen) and is a bit more intense than the other two, but it has a solid battle system and fun cast. (2/3 sry)

great q! switch has symphonia and vesperia, & steam has those and berseria and zestiria. symphonia is an older entry and is dated but it has some of my favorite worldbuilding and storytelling. slow start but definitely worth it imo. symphonia gained a lot of traction for tales in the west. (1/2)

omg i will always recommend the tales games to people. my introduction to the series was back when i was around 8/9 years old, and it still resonates with me to this day. special place in my heart. 🩷 not turn-based like final fantasy! which threw me for a loop when i started playing FF lol.

if you’ve not read “in the lives of puppets” by him, i’d recommend that one. to me, the ‘science fiction’ aspect precedes the ‘fantasy’ aspect, which i was a little uncertain of at first (given my personal preference), but i ended up thoroughly enjoying that one. different from his other works imo.

oh, i loved that one! what did you think of it? i’ve been meaning to check out his green creek book series, but i’ve not gotten around to it.

iron gate has been sitting on my bedside table for MONTHS waiting for me to start reading but i’ve been so busy and keep getting sidetracked 😭

i also think a 2025 goal of mine is to read acotar since it seems like everyone i know has read that series‼️
