Point being that a lot of significant technologies are continual processes. It's mostly revisionism that highlights certain dates more than others. But that doesn't mean that the words people used to describe these technologies at the time were just marketing nonsense.

Well... History will probably look back and indicate certain dates relative to AGI. The same as we do for cars, planes, radio, steam engines, computers, etc. All these words are formed from consensus about what a technology *is*. The idea that there are prewritten definitions is misplaced.
