The Sedge Warbler never repeats the same song twice. I painted this little saint, descendant of earthbound dinosaurs, thinking of icons. Now, it flies across the globe, a fellow traveler. I thought of song lines and aboriginal art. It is said Australian birds taught us to sing. Will we ever know?
