So far I've only been involved in studio based production though Publisher side sounds interesting!
I think getting some experience last year as a cinematics producer is what got me thinking about the whole subject so thankyou for the enlightened info!

I feel this is a powerful question we as people managers can use. Giving people the space to be open with their worries so you can directly address them. Its so easy, yet so often overlooked!

Set clear goals for what it should achieve and check it regularly with your team if it's achieving that!

With my current role, I work hand in hand with a product manager so I handle almost none of that side.
So it varies a tonne!

But at bottom line for me it's this;
Product sets scope and business objectives of work.
Production delivers that work.
And it's a partnership between the two to do that.

I do think it builds a great mindset of being end product focussed which helps. I think it's easy to get lost in the detail of getting things made, and forget an end output is the goal!

I've been a producer for just over 2 years, again both AAA/ mobile. I've managed a Cinematics team, and currently manage a feature delivery pod for a big liveops Merge game.

I'm in my 3rd year in the industry. Started -> QA on F1 games at Codemasters. -> assistant producer on Until Dawn (remake)-> now been over a year working on Merge Dragons as a Producer 🫡
