Attended a networking event for alumni of Dutch universities at the Consulate of the Netherlands in SF. It was my first time back at the consulate since Covid; great chats with folks from Germany, China, the U.S., Poland & the Netherlands who all attended my alma mater, the University of Amsterdam.

Riding home on Bart. There are two social workers on the busy train in Bart uniforms, with the words “Crisis Intervention Specialist” on the back of their shirt. They make it clear they aren’t cops in conversations with riders. They make me feel safer than the police would.
