Last week @gabbygrowsxtals.bsky.social and I had an amazing time running experiments at CXI at LCLS at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory on nanocrystal protein samples! Our protein nanocrystals looked like little stars 🌟 💎

In 2018, similar (if not as drastic) cuts were proposed.

But 👀 at the FINAL FY18 budget - Congress *increased* science funding💲even with *proposed* reductions.
FY18 funding for NIH increased despite a *request* to decrease it - the images shows the differences. From aip.org
