Why do the butterflies and bees co mingle so closely? (bees don't photograph well) Turns out the bees dig and the butterflies search for the same minerals (salts etc). The butterflies are "puddling." They look for cool wet soil and will often mate in these area, living in harmony with the bees.

Found the Apheloria virginiensis aka Kentucky Flat Millepede. Wiki says - it is a large North American millipede. It gets its name from the yellow and orange markings on its back that give it a flattened appearance. It is reported to secrete cyanide compounds as a defense mechanism.
