Here’s a list of Pizza Hut classics around the country, which typically have the red cups, booths, and lamps. (I know the pandemic cost some of them salad bars, though.) List last updated a year ago. rolandopujol.substack.com/p/the-retrol...

I know a lot is going on at once, but... I think The Guardian's headline editing team should consider that they just might be overusing the word "amid".

Probably around 1980, I know I was playing with people from middle school, but I couldn’t say exactly what year at this point. I _think_ the first non-D&D game was Champions, though we also did stuff in the 80s with Rolemaster, Traveller, Car Wars and Twilight 2000.

I mean, it’s supposed to be shorthand for “and” either way. There’s a prominent Kroger grocery chain in my area whose official trademark is “Pick ‘n Save”. The only trouble “DnD” gives me is that my ttrpg feed serves up the occasional post about people setting phones to Do Not Disturb.

Ridiculous, for are not the stars just pinholes in the paper backdrop of night? The moon hangs before its own undoing. Paper reigns supreme for surely there are no scissors big enough to sever the heavens.

It belonged to a neighbor girl. I suspect it was around 1980 based on how old I think I was — around 11 or 12. I don't remember much detail now other than that the cover was this cyan one. I quickly sought out the three AD&D books, lured by the siren song of the word "Advanced".

Here's the 1985 issue of ADQ where my article on 3D ramps was featured on the cover. It includes photographs I took of my Gen Con 18 event layout, and my paper-fold-up with directions, created in MacPaint on my 512K "Fat Mac". I was 16, and Steve Jackson games paid me, IIRC, $78. My first paycheck.

Good gods, it is hard to take these stupid buffoons as seriously as they need to be taken. I can't even imagine being so easy to bait. This is provocation on the level of "What are you... chicken?" — like total amateur-hour shit.

There are links to Tinny Dungeon itself in the generator's help text, but you can also learn more here: arispen.itch.io/tinny-dungeons. It's, IMHO, a great little thing, with which I am unaffiliated except that I'm a big fan of it.

I have made an online character generator/editor for the rpg-in-a-tin game, #TinnyDungeon. It works in the browser, and the cards you print from it come at the correct size to fit in the game's physical tin. I think it's also kind of fun to just play with.

📌 it’s an emoji. Easy on phones, a bit harder to type on the computer. You could copy and paste it.

Before there was Doom there was Wolfenstein 3D. And before there was Wolfenstein 3D, there was Castle Wolfenstein. And that experience, threadbare though it may now seem, was available on the Apple II.
