the mildly infuriating thing is, this is from a vehicle, and part of the board had conformal coating. if they had only coated more of it, this would never have happened!

in this case, a close inspection under magnification showed a bit of corrosion on a few parts, this one included. and after cleaning it, the important bits had clearly been eaten away
