For some reason a scarily large portion of the country thinks a career politician with a record of decades of accomplishing nothing for this country is best to lead this country. I don't think there is sense to be made here.

If nothing else, it's absolutely inhumane and should be condemned regardless of political beliefs. Treating human beings as humans shouldn't be a political issue. It's heartbreaking and it's hard not to be left feeling hopeless and powerless. Stay strong, this too shall pass.

Canada and Mexico will not be invading the US. That is simply not a possibility for a whole host of reasons. For one, it's not worth our citizens lives. It's not necessary. We just need to retool our economies to not be US reliant.

I believe that the US (and the west) is sick. Perhaps not terminal. But certainly sick. And it's a contagion. All that aside, regardless of how many voted for this president, the US has proven to not be a rational electorate, and definitely not a reliable trading partner.

I have family and friends (although, I'm not sure that's how I'd categorize them now) that are "MAGA". The common denominator seems to be they share the same prejudices - they hate and/or fear the same people that US MAGA do. An inability to render empathy for people that don't share their ignorance

I admire your humanism. I was very much similar minded until this became an issue of being American. We are human first, I agree. Borders are archaic, but at this point in history still necessary
