You have some queer friends, Dorothy, she said.
The queerness doesn't matter, so long as they're friends, was the answer
L. Frank Baum, The Road to Oz

I’d have defected too. Nothing sounds sadder to me than a conga line at a conservative Christmas part. #michaelma #cpc #lpc #liberalparty #conservativeparty #jamiljivani

“Can you Imagine, the Art and Life of Yoko Ono” by Lisa Tolin artwork by Yas Imamura & “Ono-isms” by Yoko Ono edited by Larry Warsh. Can you Imagine was charming, simple & pure with beautiful art. Ono-isms should have been better, there are hundreds of far more interesting Yoko quotes. Books 22 & 23

“Moritz” Bob Herron “Slashed to Ribbons in Defense of Love and other stories” Felice Picano. Queer books from ‘82. Nostalgic for another time. Moritz a light hearted sex comedy about a big dicked country boy moving to NY. Slashed to Ribbons a variety of tales some dark, some emotional. Books 20 & 21

The Official Sex Manual by Gerald Sussman nearly broke my brain. I had expected a prim & sterile book written in 1965, not a sex guide for an unknown life form. Part of me thought it was a modern hoax made to look like an older book. It makes sense only when you consider hallucinogenics. Book 19.

The Normal Heart and Destiny of Me - Larry Kramer, Poems for Lost and Un-Lost boys - Michael Lassell. Plays and poetry on gay life in the 80s/AIDS. Loved the Normal Heart, I’ll look up the film. Turns out poetry may not be for me, I was lost and drifted durning most of Lassell’s. Books 16, 17 & 18.

“Mona of the Manor” was enjoyable, last book in the Tales of the City series. “Misadventures in the (213)” tried so hard to be in the same vein as Tales of the... It suffers from dull humour, bad writing, pomp & racism. Jam packed with a list of celebrity names no one cares/ed about. Books 14 & 15.

Found lamps in a box on the curb, 1 had a small piece broken off. Made a quick mould with putty, froze it, filled it with J-B Weld Steelstik & stuck it on using Gorilla Glue. Not a perfect match, but after some trimming, shaping & mixing a few shade of metallic paint, it will do. Now to find Shades!

My mother gifted me her childhood tricycle, it now sits on the hearth of our fireplace draped in heart-leaf philodendron.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Minicomic Collection. At 1200+ pages a painfully heavy book to read. The content started off promising & nostalgic, but quickly spiralled into lazy writing to sell increasingly stupid products. A handful of She-Ra and later He-Man comics thrown in. Book 13.

Decade Dance - Michael Lassell.
Queer 80s Poetry.
The attached poem, How to watch your Brother Die, makes me weepy every time.
Book 12

Desperate Visions - Interviews & Essays by Jack Stevenson.
Stand out chapter, the interview of Jean Hill, so much life! We Need a full biography on her life. John Waters, Divine & Mary Vivian Pierce were decent, Mink Stole was pompous & full of herself. The Kuchar Bros were ok, but sluggish. Book 11

The Venus Complex - Barbie Wilde.
Disgusting and disturbing. Written as though it were the diary of a serial killer/rapist. I stopped reading in disgust a few times and had to remind myself it was written by a female author, not by a psychotic, misogynist, incel, before getting back into it. Book 10

The Power of Judyism - Judy Tenuta. Wanted this to be better Judy is best heard/seen & doesn’t translate well to written word. I could hear her voice clearly while reading but her disjointed rants/outburst come off more confusing than charmingly odd. The book/humour did not age well. A+ Cover
Book 9
