Sun Yat-Sen gardens have been in Vancouver since I think 1986 and yesterday for the first time ever I went in and looked at it - I couldn’t even tell it was open, let alone free. I was totally floored, it was so beautiful.

Went to a celebration of what would have been Teresa Teng’s 70th birthday last night. Performing arts are alive and well in Burnaby. It was great.

Random Portuguese castle. They let you just walk on these things, along ramparts with no railings and big long drops. Super cool, sort of.

Another bridge in Portugal, simply named “The Old Bridge”, because the highway crosses a newer one. How old? Built on the foundations of a Roman aqueduct in the 17th century and rebuilt in the 20th. I wonder how living so casually with so much history informs your thinking, or if it does.

Fine Corinthian (ah, we miss you, Ricardo) columns from Évora, left over from a Roman temple to Diana. You can’t see them but nearby are about a dozen art students drawing and painting them. You can’t feel it but it was about 38 C.

A fave thing from a bike trip through Portugal, the Roman bridge at Alacantara. I didn’t know it was coming, just came around a corner after a really fast fun descent and poof there it was.

Well! I was away riding bikes for long enough that when I got back my Twitter account seems to have kind of vanished. So, that means I will finally commit to this sunny world. Good.
