There was definitely something about this that felt off, Paul Rudd’s character was weirdly written. He is just ignoring clear red flags and mental alarms that should be going off especially with his daughter just yelling at him constantly.

Totally agreed, it had moments that just felt different. Like the phone call that changes from a tense mood to something sad and the passage of time along with it.
