Current read is Big Chief, by @jonvhickey.bsky.social , a Native American political novel. Not very far in yet, but Mitch is a compelling protagonist and I'm excited to consume the rest of this book.

I sure did get here like a day or two after Bluesky opened to the public. Hugo Awards Drama is what ultimately drew me in, I think, and I stayed because of the amazing community of writers.

the oversized marshmallow had a little outside time on the porch today. he hates the harness less now.

this big beautiful tree shades my entire front yard for the vast majority of the day. i took these pictures to explain to my long-distance friends and partners why I'm planting a native shade garden in the flower beds my shitty neighbors gave up on rather than sunflowers.

anytime I pick anything up, if he's awake, he reaches out for my arm and demands to inspect whatever I'm holding. very important and difficult job. requires great skill.
