A very important day on my calendar but, sadly, there haven't been any sheep in my area for 15 or more years. However, I did virtually hug several this morning via the #Explore.org Farm Sanctuary Sheep Barn and Sheep Pasture cams: Connor O'Leary (rust), Liam (horns) and Topanga (white w/black).

Walrus heads are small compared to their bodies and #walruseyes are tiny compared to their heads. I was finally able to get a good closeup of one of the boys on Round Island, AK, yesterday evening during my Explore CamOp shift: Lo! and behold! An open walrus eye!

It's National Lighthouse Day and never too late in the day to honor one of the abandoned lights! This is the incredible Tillamook Light in Oregon, permanently closed on 09-01-1957 after 77 years of service. While in service, accessing it for supplies and staffing was a dangerous undertaking.

Happy Friday from #walrusgang! Male walrus have been summering at Round Island, AK for decades so that may make them the "original" Beach Boys 😉. A good tune for them from the musical 🎶 Beach Boys might be "I Get Around", except these fellas cruise the ocean for girls, not SoCal drag strips! 😁
