Charging out your lowest paid admin at $215-$245/hour to process paperwork is theft in my mind. Why do the courts put up with this - are they on the take too?

Went to a winemakers' event at Rosella today with Coal Pit. Great wine and wow Anika really knows her craft and her bit of Central Otago well. Food was excellent too, as always with Rosella.

There's a good sized list of people I wanted to (and expected to) see and say hi to at Kawaiicon that I completely missed. Sorry!

Mōrena Kawaiicon! Basic device hygiene for potentially dodgy environments: Wi-Fi off, Bluetooth off, Airdrop off, Hotspot off, VPN on.

It seemd a pretty reasonable op-ed covering what 🇺🇸 seems to think is an important topic. I don't usually read the op-ed columnists here or at the Guardian but I made it through this without throwing my phone.

I hit seven Michelin recommended in Da Nang in September. All using the app and looking at "Near Me".

Moore Wilson's Wellington City had pearl onions a little while back. What else to do with them but Coq au Vin?

On the bright side I won't be spending any time with MBIE's rage-inducing registry of radio frequencies today. Both website and API broken broken broken.

The weather station and nav light both survived, along with the solar panels. The grey telemetry antenna to the right in this photo was blown to bits.

Hey Wellington isn't for everyone. Why not try Christchurch for a change?

It was, in fact, dns.

Found another bug* in MBIE's Radio Spectrum Management APIs.

The only person who understands MBIE's RSM API is on leave for the rest of the year.

* NL for Northland is missing from the API definition. In 3.5 years this is the first time I've tried to limit a search result to Northland. 🤦‍♂️

Getting close to the highest wind speed and gust I've seen on a weather station that survived. This is a Gill GMX500 owned by the Picton Harbourmaster, installed at Dieffenbach Point in Queen Charlotte Sound. www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pw...

I was lucky enough to find one of these spaghetti squashes at Moore Wilson over the weekend. Roasted, shredded, & sautéed with garlic mushrooms, greens, marjoram, lemon zest, chilie flakes, and topped with parmesan breadcrumbs. If I see one again it's MINE.

The money apparently comes from thoughts & prayers now. It's a faith based economy. I've been sending this photo from @jpdanner.com to everyone I know as a warning.

I feel like Garmin should offer a special Wellington Edition of their software that takes wind speed & direction into account. I waited until 16:30 today but it was still 30km/h gusting to twice that.

I can see that intersection out my window. It's been a rough day.

LVDF at Meow Nui for the Wellington Jazz Festival. 🙌

I'm sure this notice wasn't up the last time I went to the loo at Meow Nui. There must be a story.

Jonathan Crayford playing Meow Nui tonight in a fantastic Wellington Jazz Festival gig.

Instead of clarifying that the minister's statement was somehow incorrect, Radio New Zealand instead implies the audience believed the statement incorrect. Here an actual fact or two about Health NZ stats on doctors' salaries would be... I dunno, maybe what a journalist should do?

Avoid crossing the Cook Strait right now if you have a choice. It's rough as guts on the water & in the air.

When I hear the term "American Exceptionalism" I think of this. A 9/16th stainless bolt on a scientific instrument manufactured for export. Would it have been harder to use metric? No, just too woke.
