The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funded NPR, PBS and hundreds of local radio and TV stations across the U.S. for more than a half-century, said on Monday that its board of directors had voted to dissolve the organization because Congress cut off its federal money.

Israel’s Parliament passed new legislation formally removing diplomatic immunity from the UN agency — widely known as UNWRA — for Palestinian refugees. UNRWA says Israel is trying to discredit the agency, which provides education and heath care to millions of Palestinians across the Middle East.
