With storms coming tonight for portions of North Carolina, there will likely be thunder, and it will be louder than usual. At night there are temperature inversions. The inversion traps sound causing thunder to sound louder. #ncwx

Took till mid-November but we finally have our first freeze on the season in North Durham. #ncwx

Cold front moving through Central North Carolina. Just gusted to 20 mph at the house in Durham, NC #ncwx

A strong cold front will move through the state Wednesday evening. Along the front we will see rain showers, wind gusts of up to 40 mph, and a temperature swing, from the 60s to the upper 30s/low 40s by Thursday morning.

Behind a cold front this week, an upper level low will swing by and bring the coldest air of the season. There’s also a good chance for mountain snow in Western North Carolina by the end of the week. Will continue to monitor! #NCWX
