Liverpool have some decent players off the bench. Jones, Jota, Tsimikas, and Bradley are all fairly capable. Nunez counts for something, too.

The point of the "theory" is to say that Spurs' would be in a better position if we had played our starting XI in the PL tat the same rate as other sides.

These numbers provide a world of context as to why Spurs are doing so poorly in the league: Their best eleven has, compared to other sides, played less football in the Premier League. Injuries have absolutely killed us this season, and these numbers back it up.

How does this compare to other teams? I ran this same experiment on four different teams to get a gauge of how other teams approach rotation in the Premier League and how bad Tottenham’s injury crisis is.

which averages out to 1810 minutes per player, and over 36 Premier League games, each player is playing about 50 minutes per game. In another sense, out of the 35,640 minutes of Premier League football played by Tottenham Hotspur, our best XI has only played 55.89% of those minutes.

First, we need to identify the best starting XI. This will be my own opinion, but let’s call this XI the “best”. In the list below is the player and the number of PL minutes played.
