GW was willing to nuke/retcon an entire setting when the game and its models wasn't selling well. The idea they would be risk adverse to minor changes to the setting in order to appeal to new potential customers is a bit silly.

Given he was able to project psychic glamour and the fact he fell into the same aesthetic traps as all fascists do, I'm sure he's projecting a form of himself he considers the ideal both in aesthetics and philosophy, rather than the flawed Individual he actually is.
