Slight tweak to this take. They’ll cut when they need to stimulate, but not if the cut were to lock in bad policy. Trump’s tariffs are bad policy.
Unintelligent take on the fed - they’re not cutting rates. They need space for when there is a real slowdown so they can cut to stimulate growth. Meanwhile we keep getting the hidden taxes in inflation and bailouts.
