The kitten has been super extra adorable the last few days, as if she’s actively trying to distract us from the implosion of everything.

(She’s waiting for her next game of fetch here—she loves to chase her UFO toy down the stairs.)

We have four chairs at our dining room table. When we moved in to our house, my husband, my stepdaughter, and I each claimed a place at the table. Within about a week of JoJo joining us, she’d established herself in the one that remained.
