Thankful that my college (SB Valley College) offered all of us UndocuAdvocate training last week AND provided us guidelines that they now made into a helpful handout. I hope other colleges and universities are doing or will do similar.

Hello Bluesky gente/folks! Today is my birthday so I decided to get fresh air! I went birdwatching and walking at one of my favorite places, CA Botanic garden. Just a few more weeks until fall term is done, but first a fall break. What do other folks do/practice to ground yourselves?

Tomorrow on campus sponsored by the Ethnic Studies department. :) My colleague Dr. Blacksher organizes this annual event. If you’re near San Bernardino or Riverside (The IE) come through. Also LA isn’t that far, I used to commute there when I taught high school, but you do need time for the drive!

What I learned still informs me as an educator. I’m glad over the years I’ve been able to pass along materials to friends and comrades who could not travel there. It was an honor to go twice to learn from many different communities including La Realidad & Oventic, one I don’t take lightly.

My son was just asking today more on them and their history. Reminds me of a lot from back then and now. Photos I took when the delegation was leaving Oventic during La Otra Campana 2006
