it makes no sense that one of the finest opera singers alive today would publicly be rude to a rando hobbyist, ergo, she must have thought i was not a rando hobbyist (maybe a vocal performance major or something) ergo she actually paid me a massive compliment

hm in hindsight i shouldn't have gone so literal in my translation because this jaunty little duet is a song in the well trod "haha being in love sure sucks sometimes but aint it great tho" genre but "pain" seems a little too strong in English so the tone is confused
