A blog for C-Drama sh*tposting, including – but not limited to – DMBJ/The Lost Tomb.
Hu Bayi, the main character, is a retired soldier in his early 40s. He's honest, pragmatic, poor and cares a lot about the few people in his life, especially his friend Wang Kaixuan, called Pangzi.

These two are so obviously made for each other, you just want them to stop pining and just leave together at the end of the movie.
(Nah, don't worry, I can wait. ;) )

Absolutely loved the ending, like everything else about the show. I'd be perfectly content if it ends there and never gets another season, but I wouldn't mind to see more either.
(But I know how hard it can be to get all the actors back for another round.)

No one told me they would be so shippable. But hey, one can never have enough rivalry-to-friendship duos.

I love these two and their relationship, they're just so precious and protective of each other.
If this drama doesn't get a second season, I'll be very disappointed.
(Can't believe there's still no fic on AO3. BLASPHEMY!)

It looks and feels exactly like the live-action version of a shônen manga and balances the genre-typical mix of humor, action and more serious storytelling REALLY, really well.
My only complaint are the short episodes and that there's only 27 of them.

Great entertainment, but nothing too serious, I thought.
And then episodes 10 and 11 completely destroyed me.
This show is really quite something.

Also, that ending theme song is amazing, I wish I could buy it somewhere. But trying to find songs from Chinese dramas anywhere legally is a pain in the butt, sadly.
