What's baffling is that Epic put in the work to enable EAC to work with Proton then just... kept it disabled on their own games.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks it's because running kernel anti-cheat on Proton doesn't give the same backdoor access that running it right on Windows does.

It doesn't help that people have such small attention spans that they can't be apart from their phone for more than 2 seconds to pay attention to the steel death machine they're operating... I swear every time I look into another car's window the driver has their fucking face down in their phone.

The Feed "OnlyPosts" helps a lot too. It removes all reposts from your timeline and only shows posts and quotes from people you follow. It helps a ton with curating, especially when you have follows that keep their own posts sane, but repost anything and everything.

The funny thing is I've had such great experiences with the artists I've commissioned on these sites that it's not like I wouldn't trust them the normal way
But there's always the peace of mind of having platforms that are built to ensure these transactions are always completed in full or not at all

Yeah, this is why I've been pretty much only commissioning over sites with escrow services, like @artconomy.bsky.social or Commiss.io for a few years now. Been burned one too many times to want to work any other way.
