You keep speaking as if all there is to political activity is the single mission to find the one true hero and send them to the White House. But it’s perfectly fine to build a movement. I’d argue that’s more important in fact, if the goal is sweeping institutional change.

I’m in the NW suburbs, and I saw them patrolling the construction zones along the expressway looking to sweep up workers in the dead of night a few weeks ago.

People expect a political tribe to battle against the system with, but Dems want to operate as a loose federation whose main job is to just keep the existing socio-economic machinery well oiled.
Had they spent the last 40 years building & evangelizing a movement, they’d be farther along vs GOP.

We need more massive but peaceful protest at this stage.
I would invite any of you keyboard warriors to go out and attack them, but that would work out bad for us all. They’re looking for pretext lock down everything right now and we shouldn’t be giving it to them.

Yeah, I mostly agree with this. The most immediate problem is gun culture & easy access for nut jobs. It’s also true though that we have a political radicalization problem which is mostly right wing and that needs to be called to attention — not to keep score, but to properly frame the issue.

I can’t watch anymore any of those 80’s & 90’s clandestine action movies, or the genre where the intrepid reporter fights to reveal “the truth” — they all end with congressional hearings or “newspapers rolling in the light of day”, and it saddens me how that’s become pointless and quaint.

I think that plaid wearing, midwestern moderate crossover voter is never gonna show up in much greater numbers than they have been in 30+ years, and that party leadership may have to take the populist zeitgeist a bit more seriously.

We need to keep putting it out there that this *ish is not normal. No officials spoke like this until Trump normalized it, and it's gaslighting, its gross, and it lowers the US. These fascists have got to go.
