nice listen, a while since i viewed this one,
not to get all nerdy 🤓 but although you mentioned the disney version, with Patrick McGoohan,
don’t think you said it was actually a remake of a George Arliss & Margret Lockwood 1937 feature, which the titular captss as in gets away yo freedom.

surely up-pended
February 3, 2026 at 4:12 PM
the ‘sarge’ was voided by ‘joe e ross’ of ‘car 52 where are you’ & ‘Bilko’ fame

and i think ‘rosemary the telephone operator’ was also the same voice as ‘wilma flintstone’

the bbc used to make shows that were the length they needed to be, if they ran short,we’d get a cartoon about a violin playing egg or Blofeld telling us not to swim in a quarry

netflix show eps that are varied length but could be 4/6 eps rather than 8/20

there’s a lot of padding out there

I used to love the ‘Bob Hope’ vehicles when they popped up on tv in the 70’s/80’s
special mention to our own Bob (Monkhouse) who was in the the original ‘carry on’ (Sergeant)
but the winner for me is ‘Funny Bones’ with the genius that is ‘Lee Evans’

as much as i deplore the mindless vandalism of anything,
i can’t help thinking the disparity of our judicial system when 3 teenage girls attacked and killed a man in west london earlier this year and all 3 combined didn’t get 4 years

it’s a tiny rail way bridge near the market in Castleford, i remember asking my dad why it it was so called, he looked at me earnestly and shook his head and said ‘you’re nearly 30 if you don’t know now i doubt you ever will’

back in the late 80’s early 90’s there used to be a guy called Alan Kent, he’d pack local venues in around west Yorkshire,
he’d play ‘music man’ ‘penny arcade’ proper kids party tunes and we loved it back then! real party atmosphere at the Eightland Wells in Dewsbury on a Sunday night!
