Okay, the price is always a fair point. I'm not the person to argue FPGA vs. software emulation, so I'm not going to.
But what did you expect?
They aren't reasonably going to be producing new chips anytime soon (if ever), and if you want an emulation box, the C64 Maxi is a great option.
