All great resources for learning the history and the culture surrounding ttrpgs and their vaunted 50 year history.

Also the Dragonlance novels - but that'll seem pretty generic in 2025.

(Also, Girl Genius by the Foglios. It's just neat.)

There's also a collection of the Dragon Magazines Ecologies and a long running article series "The Monster Hunters Association." Both the same thing, but the MHA articles frame the monster ecologies in a short story framework.

30 Years of Adventure - also WotC. A great top-down retrospective with insight from the likes of Vin Diesel.

What's New? With Phil and Dixie by Phil & Kaja Foglio. A comic that ran in Dragon Magazine from its inception that lampoons many of the tools and tricks of the trade. Easy online find ->

Stu Horvath - *Monsters, Aliens, & Holes In The Ground.* A tremendous history of ttrpgs, with interviews.

Arts & Arcana, WotC publishing. A visual history through all of the history from Chainmail thru current ->
