Alt of a librarian who is out of fucks to give re: everything.
I just had the weirdest night of sleep ever. Asleep before 10, physically up at 1, back to bed at 2:30, waking up every half hour with vivid sexy dreams. Finally, at 6, I got up because I knew there was no more good sleep to be had. Very unlike me. I usually sleep very well and with chaste dreams.

I'm sure M.T. is a wonderful person, and this is not a reflection on him, but if I hear the phrase "library joy" again, I'm going to puke.

YES.
I want more high-level library leaders to talk about books.

We've tried the whole jump on every hype cycle to stay relevant thing and it just isn't working.

Maybe we should try positioning ourselves more closely to our actual core functions for a while instead.

Beautiful.
I’m 65 today; my “golden years” have officially begun! The world’s most wonderful husband gave me an early birthday present last night. I’ll let the plaintiff share the details of the case in her own time, but we worked together to serve a hideous library troll. Here’s the magic moment.

Found out this weekend that my MIL is vehemently anti-union because once she tried to shovel snow at a government building (???), and they told her to go kick rocks.

Unpopular opinion: Religious holidays have no place in the public library. Including Christmas. Even the pagan parts. No Santa, no tree, no Christmas storytime, no displays, and for God's sake, no nativity. Either you celebrate every religion's major holidays equally, or you do none.

I enjoy my job and adore my coworkers - but if I could work in a library with minimal staff and closed stacks, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've peopled too hard for decades.

Visited my MIL this weekend. For once, I wasn't the one telling her off for being a horrible human being. It was nice getting to sit back and watch, for once.
