"child sex abuse material" is perfectly legible on a first read. I accept "CSAM" is not, so I will try not to abbreviate until we are all up to speed

We tried that once, but the only lesson we learnt was to never try anything again

In happier memories from this time: this is why we have nicknamed one of our cats "Ed Miliband"

Not typical of course: my MiL voted Green at the last election - I strongly suspect her husband voted (or would vote Reform). This is in Adrian Ramsay's constituency, FWIW

ha! one of my first experience of the internet (a couple of decades ago now) was being chided for using "sci fi".

I was originally planning to post something along the lines of "that's a lot of character development in three sentences." with a screenshot

Then I continued reading....

I do not necessarily disagree

I've always been much too online. But I think it was around the Wakefield by-election when I started to hear, in vox pops, the sort of stuff I usually heard being said on Alex Jones' show. Felt like a cordon sanitaire had been breached

I would be a bit uncomfortable (to put it mildly) if David Goodhart decided to share his topical observations with me at a bus stop. (white - not British, maybe that is why)

It is an amazing failure of imagination - all because he boxed himself into a corner and was too proud to admit "yeah - actually, it is moral to lie in some circumstances and believing in something doesn't require a willingness to die for it".

Absolutely. I don't actually think it is Peterson's view. But, that under all the obscurationism there is absolutely nothing there.

This is ironic given his whole shtick now is "brave truth teller of moral certainties". But what you get is a merry-go-round of prevarication and word games.

"If only European Jews hadn't sinned and put themselves in that situation."

Not sure if I can think of a positive interpretation of Peterson's implied stance there.
