On Discworld examples. Someone very patiently (but successfully) tried to explain the joke of the gods living in Dunmanifestin when I was about 14. It took about 10 years for it to finally *click*

It is an amazing failure of imagination - all because he boxed himself into a corner and was too proud to admit "yeah - actually, it is moral to lie in some circumstances and believing in something doesn't require a willingness to die for it".

Absolutely. I don't actually think it is Peterson's view. But, that under all the obscurationism there is absolutely nothing there.
This is ironic given his whole shtick now is "brave truth teller of moral certainties". But what you get is a merry-go-round of prevarication and word games.
