The big news is that this hawk and osprey got into a territory fight right in front of me while I was busy doing something else, but I managed to take a couple pictures even though I was on the phone. One of the best shots I've ever taken and it was kind of an accident.

I haven’t posted my scissor-tailed flycatchers here but my main activity lately has been hanging out at the detention basin waiting for one to alight. Top three bird!

Absolutely great view of two pileated woodpeckers today, maybe even a third was around. I didn’t realize until I got home that I got a good flight picture.

I mentioned before I wanted a really good fish-catching osprey photo…forgot to mention that I got one since then.

Some friends on our recent snow day. The neighborhood was absolutely crazy with birds. I saw a brown creeper for the first time.

I took two of my favorite bird pictures today in the Houston snow, but neither photo has snow in it. I love this fluffed out warbler. They lend themselves to photos really well. A beautiful snow day.

It’s been cold and raining all week so no birding lately but I’ve been stalking my local osprey this month and he never disappoints. A really clear nice fish-catching photo would make for a good 2025 for me.

Oh right I have to remember to keep using this! Well today was great because I got a good, clear, close photo of a Northern Flicker so please share the joy with me. I adore them.
