i'm admittedly biased on favoring most 5th gen+ platforms, but Sony's PS1 is unmistakably THE juggernaut of that gen which amazingly lucked out with a variety of games not too unlike its Nintendo precursors, but also with devs often successfully meeting the 3D/multimedia dreams once promised by 3DO

😔 perhaps my taste in Genesis/Mega Drive games was more normal than i thought it would be... regardless, it has been an fun platform to explore (plus some CD and 32X games) and its easy to see why devs and gamers cherish it even now 😄

while i sadly had to miss some key titles here due to troubles with higher difficulty barriers than i'm used to, 2025's Nintendo Entertainment Month still left me fond of the sheer impact that the NES/Famicom left for gaming with its wildly diverse library that STILL grows today

Fear and Loathing in Monster Time is over, so here's my verdict on all the games i got to beat in this past month (the higher the fear, the more powerful a game is, or maybe they are FUCKING)

even though 2025's 3DO Month ended up with somewhat unsurprising results for me, i do believe the 3DO is a system that had more potential than it was given... if it wasn't absurdly priced, had 2x the CPU speed, and packed with an EA in-house game instead, it could've been a real 5th gen contender!
