Get in touch with them....they're going to Roadburn, Tilburg, in April. Get them to do a Kent shindig en route. It's a classic touring move move

Absolutely the long version wins 100%....it's a stunning piece of work

Is this a...gulp....10" record, in 2025?

This is a modern day masterpiece of the form, X factor carved through it

...and it'll be excellent

All the Astoria gigs were under a tenner which was essentially 2 hours wage (for me at the pizza place back then). Does that stand up now?

They're maybe the 2-3 gigs a year people and they're propping that side of the industry up. They're not the people going to see Wank Army + The Shitbirds for £8 in the Exchange basement (which I am doing next week - that's not the band name and the ticket was a tenner...but the point almost stands)

Haha....and you're saying 1992 like it was recent and it probably does feel recent because we're 100 and Seventh Son only just came out and who the hell is this Nirvana band. But it was Jesus' lifetime ago and in 1992 there was someone saying they saw The Hollies for thruppence 😂

Free music floating in the air = gig ticket prices being eye watering. Which for us of 'an age' (who still buy records) is a horrifying development but for those who stream music its absolutely normal and fine. We need to keep up with modern developments, we're in the wrong 🍻😬

I don't know what to say here other than I hope you've received the required help

Is your brother in law the iron maiden drummer who apparently plays in an iron maiden tribute band?

Absofuckinglutely

It's just hideous pricing and it's because the record industry dropped the ball on the physical v digital debate and now have to take a cut from gig tickets so we all have to pay. Or not, in this case
November 16, 2025 at 9:29 PM
That would have been. Good gig as well! I probably only knew of that world because I worked with Chris Piao at SRD. But that's how it goes right...be in amongst it and find out. I think he runs a book shop in America now...!

They had some excellent songs, nothing to say? Or nothing left to say? That was absolutely crushing at the time....so downbeat... Saw them play in Croydon once, Fridge played at one end of the room and then Tram at the other and probably another Piao band or two?

Jesus Christ that was a strike but the backing off defence and the gks margarine hands didn't help
