Sexual violence prevention shouldn’t be a partisan issue - it’s a human one. 25% of women in Utah have experienced sexual assault including members of my family.

Let’s be clear: Cutting these programs isn’t “fiscal responsibility.” It’s a direct attack on vulnerable communities. It’s a betrayal of every survivor who relied on these resources to heal and every family praying their child, their daughters…

In Utah alone, these federal grants fund:
- Education to prevent sexual violence “before it happens”
-Support networks for survivors rebuilding their lives
-Data collection to hold perpetrators and systems accountable And now? They’re being cast aside without cause. Without transparency.

These experts spent years - some decades -developing trauma-informed strategies, training preventionists all over the country, and securing life-saving grants for states. Their work wasn’t just a “job”, they cared. It was a lifeline for survivors and a shield against future harm……
