EU stands for none of those in Serbia. In Serbia the EU stands for lining the leading parties pockets with money, and exploiting lithium. The Serbian people look to the EU for democracy, and the EU responds by congratulating Vucic for winning the stolen elections.

The Serbian people are more likely to support the ones they are receiving support from. If Russia, China and the US do nothing but exploit the country; and the EU proceeds to do the same - Why would the people see it any different? What makes it a better alternative to other foreign powers?

Cut the EU funds.

Currently the most popular opposition is a coalition of leftist and centrist political parties. Right wing is running separately for their own reasons. Students forming their own party is also a possibility, and if they do they would blow every other one out of the water. (assuming free elections)

The protests are pro-democracy and by extension pro-EU, but the EU has clearly shown that they are not interested in a democratic Serbia so the support for it dwindled down to an all time low. You are seeing 900k mostly apolitical people on the street here.What has the EU done to gain their support?

As long as the EU is funding the govt. that continues to kill their people, you won't be seeing EU flags.
