The USA has a thing called grits that would be right up your alley. Corn not oats, works better for my system, but same kind of thing. Americans don’t seem to appreciate grits with brown sugar, but put them with shrimp and we’re good.

Tenmoku would break really well over that texture. I feel you on the plates, most of mine don’t even get to the kiln before I discard them.

Thanks, yeah I was pretty happy. I looked up a bunch of articles and I think I’ll try a longer slower bisque firing. I did give these a drop and hold to try to resolve the pinholes but some of the things in this load were really bad anyway with a commercial glaze.

Goals. Throwing big is so hard, it takes a lot to work up to.

I’m considering making plaster casts of my hands in various ways since doing a little one just this week and finding it rather difficult

Love your work, it’s really inspiring for a fledgling artist like me. How do out fire such large pieces, just a massive kiln or do you have some means to separate and reconstruct after?

Here is a great replacement for the bird site, but what about those groups? I’ve stopped using Facebook but miss the group concept. I’ve also stopped using Facebook and so haven’t been in the group to discuss where to go, so I guess that makes it worse!

thanks, I'll certainly consider those.

Still working out proportions to be honest, I feel like his arms are too chunky for his legs so I might rework the whole bottom half
