For a while now I've been developing a local-first, cross-platform RSS tracker app called Trass. It's multi-device (I use it on my Android phone and my Linux laptop), and doesn't require a centralized server like Feedly and others.

I'm looking for beta-testers. If you're interested to try it […]

Really liked this video on the great vowel shift that happened in England c. 1350–1600, comparing it to more recent/current vowel shifts. Also, I had never realized how much old English sounded like Dutch!

I'm usually not a fan of microtonal music, but this is exquisite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uZUQqOLyPQ

The mastery that went into writing and performing this blows my mind.

Remember to use the 3-2-1 strategy for your fedi presence.

Keep three fedi accounts, across two different ActivityPub implementations, with one off-site instance.

just lost 2h fixing my laptop that wouldn't boot anymore

I was copying ~100GB of files, and hadn't realised I was close to 100% disk usage

at some point everything started failing

after a reboot, it wouldn't boot anymore, with a bunch of systemd services failing

tried booting from a live USB […]

I love it how every 6 months when I upgrade NixOS a bunch of things just stop working

I didn't expect to like Dredge, but so far it's actually quite fun. Perhaps a bit slow

As a teen I was a big fan of Bioshock. While reading more about the game, I discovered it had been inspired by a book called "Atlas Shrugged", so of course I set out to read it. That's how I learned that "inspired by" does not necessarily mean "endorsing" 😅

I relate with this post by Saar Drimer. Unsure I would've become an engineer if I'd felt at 18 how I feel today.

The difference between the dominant and major seventh is that the former sounds funky while the latter sounds aethery.

My home server has died after many good years of service. I'm a hardware newbie, does anyone have recommendations as to what I should do? Get a second-hand machine? A mini PC with a DAS? Plz tell me what to do 🥹

Looking for a web components library for the little app I'm making, does anyone have recommendations?

I like Quiet UI, will probably go with that one if I cannot find something I prefer.

Hier on a vu Des Preuves d'amour au Pink Screens à #bruxelles. De loin l'un des meilleurs films que j'ai vu cette année. C'était juste, drôle et émouvant. La photographie est top, et la musique aussi. Je recommande chaudement.

I'm working on an RSS tracker app, and yesterday I had the thought: what if Mozilla had chosen to dedicate itself to the small, decentralized web, rather than chase trends.

Like, imagine if Firefox had kept and improved its built-in RSS reader, and provided a native ActivityPub client, and […]
