Just to highlight how dire this is if the Caps get 10 of the next 14 points that will put them at 27 points. The teams in wildcard position just need to go .500 or 7 out of 14 to be even. What are the odds that 8 teams go around .500 or worse in the next 7 games? Not great.

And not that there are any gimmes for a team 2nd worst in the conference but we play NJ, LA, EDM, MON (on a B2B), TB, CBJ, and WPG. I don't see 6 much less 5 wins in that group of teams. EDM isn't playing well, LA isn't very good, and CBJ is pretty meh. The rest are good teams.
