I love this Venture Bros reference (even if it's not an intentional Venture Bros reference I am going to treat it like one)

One of my favorite things about these movies is how utterly unconcerned all the civilians are at the just INSANE amount of assassins and violence happening on the daily in their city.

Just waiting for one of these movies for a deep voice to growl "Thought you were retired, John." after a scene of unimaginable violence. And then Batman steps out of the shadows.

Tale of Tales might also fit the bill, but there is some serious body horror in there. Also seconding the suggestions for Crimson Peak and Vampire Hunter D.

This would be hard to track down probably, but Snow White: A Tale of Terror. Retelling of Snow White with Sigourney Weaver as the evil queen and Sam Neill as the king. Dark, gothic, some pretty good costumes asf ar as I remember, definitely not a "great" movie but an enjoyable one!
