A snippet from New Faith that reads: No one but Mercutio would've heard that weird, singular voice and thought before anything else, to save Vincente as well as themself. It had been his first and only thought then, in those last moments before he might've lost himself to the mass possession… to take what that voice had whispered and use it to save Vincente. Mercutio can't say that sort of shit to win the argument that's coming, but it's how he feels, and it's worth the pain he'll suffer tomorrow… he is Vincente's family, whether he likes it or not. He touches his fingers to his lips, once, and then goes to sleep.

I've finally introduced my husband's favorite side character into New Faith, putting my doc at 78,921 words. WE TRUCKIN' <3 Oh Bishop John Vigil, you are so hot and so irritating to Mercutio lmao
A snippet from New Faith which says "For a priest he’s stupidly handsome, so handsome Mercutio’s willing to bet he’s not as holy as he makes himself out to be with his power and his prayer beads. He’s handsome the way Mercutio imagines the devil is handsome, dark brown hair finger combed back from his face with a single strand tantalizingly hanging near his eye, the artful strokes of aging lines beginning around his eyes in his cheeks. His eyes too- they’re the sort the devil might have, entrancingly, almost creepily bluish green, bright and clear like pool water lit up at night. It’s an odd, unique color and with a gaze like that and such a lovely, expressive face, Mercutio is sure he could convince fucking anybody to eat apples, or pomegranates, or whatever."
