I added mushrooms and a little bullion and paired the soup with grilled cheese. It was OK, but wouldn't be an adequate meal without the sandwich. 2 people had almost no leftovers, which means we both ate a lot of butter. In the future, i'd add some sort of greens and beans to make this a meal.

My best #knitting advice is to listen to techno while you work on your project. It will speed up your stitches when you #knit to the beat of the music. Sandstorm by Darude is 136 bpm so it helps me work 68 purls per minute! #Fiberartist #knittothebeat

For the green theme of #showmeyourknits, my current project mostly fits, although the color is very complex with many more tones than just green. The yarn was hand spun by one of my students and gifted to me last month.

In 2015, I made this double knitting chart for a two-sided pattern in 3 Alasdair Post-Quinn's #doubleknitting class.
It was going to be a circular experiment/reversible cowl, but I haven't yet found time to try it. Does anyone out there want to give it a shot?

The Stroopwafel Shawl has a basket weave stitch that reminds me of the Dutch cookie of the same name. The center of the shawl is knit in a woven cabled motif. At the edge of the triangle, the stitch pattern transitions seamlessly into a lacy lattice. The cables create an extra warm, spongy fabric that is sure to keep you warm. The Scivias shawl is inspired by the dramatic illuminated scenes in Hildegard von Bingen’s text of the same name. The title Scivias comes from the Latin word for knowledge, and this project is designed to build your knowledge of the stacked stitch technique. The shawl begins with a floral center and grows into tiers of flaming chevrons. The border is the most complex section, densely filled with winding rows of color stripes Most of the colorwork in this shawl is created with stacked stitches, keeping the piece light and without strands on the wrong side of the work. If you have never tried this technique before, It is recommended that you watch my YouTube video tutorials before starting the project. My favorite thing about pie shawls is that they make excellent wrap skirts. There will be a slit that sits higher on one side, but you can wear it over leggings with no problem. The center of the shawl is based on a pi shawl formula, the number of chevrons doubles in each tier as you approach the border. If you are familiar with the Fox Paws pattern, the border of this shawl takes the paw motif to another level. You’ll get to knit 3 sizes of paws, each with a different number of rows and stitches.

The Stacktangle Scarf is a new crochet pattern from Patrick Stewart and Xandy Peters. This scarf is worked horizontally in a granny stitch pattern. The inclusion of stacked increases and decreases turns simple stripes into complex looking colorwork. Pat and I based this pattern off of our earlier Stacktangle Blanket collaboration. The charted and written instructions include 3 different lengths and it’s easy to make adjustments to the stitch count. The pattern is worked in a Main Color and 2 contrasting color yarns. You can read more about quantities in the Pattern Info section below. Each end of the scarf is embellished with a generous length of fringe, continuing the stripes all the way to the ends of the project. There’s a lot of room in the pattern to play with color, we even included bonus instructions for a two color version. This project is well suited for crocheters who are familiar with basic stitches and are ready to take on some new skills. If you’ve had experience with the chain stitch and the double crochet stitch, you have all the skills you need to start this pattern. There are a few increases and decreases that you may not have seen before, but we’ve included photo tutorials of anything that’s not widely known.
