hate to be a hater but that was some of the worst television i’ve ever seen. extremely bummed that most people will know this deeply inferior version of a beautiful, ambitious, and smart story. i’m not watching the next season. i can’t stand seeing one of my favorite stories get butchered so badly.

i deeply admire and love tlou2, while also thinking it has troubling subtext, that the first game is fairly trite and frustrating and that most of the game's creators think exclusively very stupid shit about what it means. i live a complicated life.

Best thing to come out of this season is the new recording of Ecstasy with Gustavo on it. Some really beautiful reharmonization and Aoife’s voice has aged like wine.

The HBO show's unwillingness to sit with any ambiguity in its storytelling/characters, really saps it. Sure, I think the games are elevated by lots of quiet exploration/tension building but it's mostly seeing that story boiled down into hard data, pure plot to be consumed, that kills it for me

which is to say: it is an anti-apartheid film explicitly from the vantage point of the colonizer. Will we get the AAA videogame version of the battle of algiers? Unclear
