I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

If you're on social media or watch sports, you are downright bombarded with ads for gambling.

Rules around it have loosened greatly in Canada, and as a result, there is a gambling related suicide in Canada on average every 9 days.

Horrifying.

before i close up today: huge thanks to everyone who supported us this year!

choosing us to buy books is obviously great but so are things that don't cost anything like sharing posts, telling friends about us, or writing google reviews. we see it all and it's so appreciated

Educators & police often misinform young people about the legality of "sexting" in Canada. This creates unnecessary fear & makes victims of nonconsensual image distribution less likely to seek support. Our digital safety research team created this infographic to help clear some things up!

I've been going on about this on the other app, but in case you missed it, 1 week after International Overdose Awareness Day, the New Brunswick govt pursues Alberta-esque plans to round up and confine drug users. I hope we've changed their course.
